Our recommendations for eye screening

We examine your eyes thoroughly and in accordance with the latest technological and methodological standards. This not only allows us to diagnose harmless visual impairments; our main priority is the early detection and prevention of eye conditions with serious consequences, such as glaucoma, macular degeneration and the detachment of or changes to the retina.

How often should you get your eyes checked?

For adults, we recommend:

The first eye examination from the age of 40, then every 2–3 years up to the age of 60. Then every 1–2 years. If glaucoma is present in the family, and for spectacle or contact lens wearers, the first examination should take place between the ages of 20 and 30.

For children, we advise

The first eye examination from the age of 2, then every 2–3 years. In preterm infants and babies with a hereditary predisposition, we recommend a preliminary examination from 4 months of age with regular follow-up checks.
