If contact lenses are fitted for children, this should only be the case when medically necessary rather than for cosmetic reasons.
Are contact lenses suitable for children?
Contact lenses are also suitable for children. Our experience shows that, if the contact lenses are well fitted and instructions regarding their handling are provided, children can cope very well with contact lenses. In some cases, even better than experienced adults.
Within the context of our practice, a healthy provision that is compatible over the long term is observed in particular when supplying contact lenses. Always under the supervision of an ophthalmologist for the safety of your child.
When are contact lenses useful for children?
- Severe visual impairment
- Extreme differences in strength between the eyes
- Short-sightedness (myopia)
- Night lenses
